What happens on the first visit?

The American Academy of Universal Dental and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that a child’s first visit to the dentist occur at 1 year of age or 6 months after the eruption of the 1st tooth. Early visits help your child to become familiar with the doctors and staff, lessening the fear often associated with dental visits, allowing us to prevent future problems and to intercept them early. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child to the first visit.
